Beginning the first week in May, all students in grades 6-8 will participate in SBAC testing. Please encourage your students to do the best they can. From May 1-5, students will be testing during Reading/Language Arts core classes. The following week students will test in their Math classes. 8th graders will participate in a new pilot Science assessment and all make-up testing will be completed during the 3rd week in May.
Please make sure that your child is well rested and fed prior to testing.
As we begin thinking about the 2017-2018 school year, please know that Mrs. Foley and I are beginning to create the master schedule. At this time, we are inputting data to determine teacher assignments. It is and has been our practice to not accept specific requests for teachers. If you have concerns regarding your child’s specific learning style I will be happy to meet with you so that we can match your child with the appropriate teacher to ensure a successful school year. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to set up a meeting so that we can sit down together and create a plan to meet your child’s needs.
My best to all of you!
Annie Allen, Principal
McAuliffe’s STEAM Fair, sponsored by LAEF, was held this past Friday and it was a remarkable event! With over 130 students participating, rooms 60 & 61 were filled with students’ experiments. Science classes visited throughout the day, and student presenters talked about their findings. A big thank you to Mrs. Ann Neufeld, coordinator of the event, and to all of the science teachers who assisted students with their experiment designs after school over the last few months. And another thank you to LAEF, for supporting McAuliffe students and STEAM education.
McAuliffe was chosen by Educational Results Partnership (ERP) and the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence (CBEE) as a 2015 California Honor Roll recipient! The California Honor Roll is part of a national effort known for its extensive and rigorous analysis of student achievement in public schools. McAuliffe stood above other schools in the state because of our success in getting students to higher levels of achievement and beyond!
